It was celebration on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at the central ground of the United Allied Spare Parts Dealers Association (UASPDA), Lagos International Trade Fair complex as the newly elected Executives led by the President, Pastor Tony Bright Nwabueze and all his officers took oath of office for their four-year tenure.

In his inaugural presidential speech, Pastor Nwabueze assured members of good governance that will raise business activities at the hitherto dull plaza with policy reforms.

While appreciating outgoing Excos led by Chief Arinze Enyibuaku, he promised to build upon good policies of the past administration.
Pastor Tony Bright, an indigene of Enugu State thanked all those that supported him and made it clear that his leadership shall be fair, accountable, security conscious, friendly to investors, and positive in leadership.
He thanked his party; UASPDA Liberation Movement (ULM) and every member who tried to make the election possible and noted that there is no winner or loser, but UASPDA remains the winner.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the chairman of the occasion, High Chief Nonso Okafor (Akusinachi Nnobi) congratulated members of UASPDA and observed one minute silence for the departed top officials of the plaza including the immediate former two past presidents, late Chief Bartholomew and Chief Simon.
In his opening prayers and sermon, Pastor Chima (Perfect), took his preaching from the books of first Samuel 11, versus 12 to 15 and Joshua chapter 5, versus 7 to 11 with theme: ‘Welcome to Gilgal’ which he described as land of forgiveness and cleansing and time of rebirth for UASPDA.

Speaking in an interview with Business Hilights.ng, the chairman of Trade Fair Stakeholders Association and president of APT, Chief Eric Ilechukwu, said with this swearing and inauguration, Stakeholders now have a new member president and he will guide him on stakeholders’ modus operandi as time goes on. He expressed happiness on the smoothness of UASPDA elections which he was also an observer and thanked the former executives for good job all through.

Also speaking, Hon. Ezewelukwa Azubike, Plaza Marshal and a founding father, congratulated Hon. Tony Bright and his Excos and demanded two key priority projects including booming the market and making sure issues of tribalism or ‘which state you come from’ is stopped in UASPDA.

He traced the origin of the plaza from Ebute-meta and Idumota (joined together) and aligned with ASPMDA in 2005, but in 2008, we agreed to buy our own space in trade fair and develop same. By 2015, we moved into this place and started business.
He assured to support the new administration in moving the plaza forward.
During the swearing in, the lawyer first sworn in the President, Pastor Tony Bright Nwabueze, who in turn, sworn in his Executive members.
Key special guests at the inauguration ceremony included Chairman of Stakeholders/APT President, Assistant PRO of APT, ASPMDA President, Tools and Hardware President and President of Ndigboamaka Association, Chief Chinedu Ukatu.
