A major step towards industrialisation, renewable energy development and job creation is emerging with the arrival a delegation from the People’s Republic of China in Nigeria as part of ongoing plans to establish a solar manufacturing company in Abia State
The proposed investment is being facilitated by MD Nwakanma Nigeria Limited in collaboration with the Abia State Government.
The proposed project is currently at the investment and planning stage, with stakeholders expressing optimism that it will be successfully implemented following the necessary approvals and completion of required processes.
A statement signed by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Madu Dennis Nwakanma and made available to Business Hilights.ng revealed that the arrival of the Chinese delegation is significant milestone in efforts to bring the manufacturing facility to Abia.
He noted that the project, expected to be sited in Aba, is expected to boost the state’s economy and strengthen its position in Nigeria’s renewable energy sector.
Nwakanma added that the proposed solar manufacturing company is expected to create thousands of employment opportunities for residents, promote technology transfer, build local technical capacity and position Abia State as a leading hub for solar energy manufacturing in the country.
According to him, the interest shown by the foreign investors reflects growing confidence in the investment-friendly policies and business environment being promoted by the administration of Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti.
Nwakanma commended Governor Otti for creating an enabling environment for investors, describing the state’s economic reforms as instrumental in attracting international partnerships.
He also applauded the support of Hon. Rowland Chinwendu Dennis, Leo Obioma Oti, Hon. Nnadozie Nwaogwugwu, and the Abia State Government for their commitment to the proposed investment.
The CEO further said the partnership demonstrates that Abia is open to local and foreign investments and is positioning itself to play a leading role in Nigeria’s transition to clean and sustainable energy.
He expressed optimism that the successful establishment of the solar manufacturing company would deliver long-term economic benefits, improve livelihoods, create employment opportunities and contribute significantly to the state’s industrial growth.
