27 LGAs Revenue Officers at an engagment seating with IIRS in Owerri
The Executive Chairman of Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Mr. Justice R. Okoye (FCA), has restated the commitment of his leadership to building a transparent, technology-driven, and world-class revenue administration.
Speaking during a recent engagement with the Revenue Heads from all 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State, he made it clear that “Together, we are not just collecting revenue we are strengthening institutions, driving accountability, and building a more prosperous future for the people of Imo State.”
While explaining to the Council revenue officers that “As we continue to strengthen our collective resolve to transform revenue administration across the State”, he recalled that “In line with the vision of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, we remain committed to building a transparent, technology-driven, and world-class revenue administration that supports the State’s economic agenda and sustainable development.
Okoye used the engagement to express his sincere appreciation to every Revenue Head for their unwavering commitment, resilience, and dedication to duty. Despite the heavy rainfall experienced on the day of the meeting.
He stressed that their presence is a testament to the passion and determination driving the ongoing transformation of revenue administration in Imo State.
Business Hilights.ng gathered that a major highlight of the session was the introduction of the newly established “Monitoring & Evaluation Protocol Department” of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS).
He also took the Revenue Heads through the objectives of the Department, emphasizing its critical role in monitoring performance, promoting accountability, enhancing operational efficiency, improving taxpayer experience, and ensuring measurable results across all revenue touchpoints in the State.
During the engagement, he introduced the “SMART Framework” “Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound” as the guiding standard for performance monitoring and evaluation, stressing that excellence can only be sustained when performance is continuously measured and improved.
