The Imo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Monday, 29th June 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Justice R. Okoye in his office.
FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Nimota O. Okoro, said the visit was to introduce herself following her April 2026 deployment and to align with key stakeholders on the Corps’ agenda.
In his remarks during the visit, Okoye welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed IIRS long-standing, cordial partnership with the FRSC, noting that it has fostered a conducive environment for service delivery in the State. He assured the Commander of a supportive tour of duty.
The Chairman commended the Head of the Drivers’ Licence Centre, CRC G.O. Amaechi, and raised concerns over inadequate licence capturing centres and delays in number plate supply. He urged the FRSC to expand capturing centres and ensure timely availability of plates to meet demand.
Responding, Commander Okoro said the request for additional centres would be reviewed, noting that FRSC had provided the required technical specifications. She added that new technology-driven systems have been deployed to streamline licence processing, and pledged to address all concerns.
IIRS boss thanked the FRSC team and reiterated IIRS’ commitment to supporting taxpayer-friendly facilities. He also appreciated His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for the opportunity to serve and advance Imo’s revenue agenda. The meeting ended with a friendly handshake and a group photograph.
