The Faculty of Engineering of Abia State University has taken delivery of strategic engineering study materials and equipment courtesy of the State Governor’s pledge during a working visit to the university.
In a verified social media post by Mr. Nicolas Emma Chimaobi, former President of the Faculty, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Faculty of Engineering and the entire ABSU community on this remarkable milestone.
“I vividly remember my time as Engineering President when the COREN accreditation team visited our faculty. During our interaction, I was asked, “Mr. President, what one message would you like us to convey to the Governor to improve engineering education in ABSU?”
“My response was simple: we needed more engineering equipment and materials to further bridge the gap between theory and practical learning, thereby producing better engineers.
“A few months later, the Abia State Government approved ₦800 million for engineering equipment and materials for the Faculty of Engineering. Today, we witnessed the arrival and offloading of two massive trucks filled with equipment that will significantly strengthen practical training and enhance the quality of engineering education in our faculty.
Chimaobi added that “The equipment also supports the newly established departments, including Chemical Engineering, marking another major step forward for the faculty.
“I sincerely appreciate the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti Alex C. Otti , the university management, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and all the Heads of Department whose dedication made this achievement possible.
“May God continue to bless the Faculty of Engineering, Abia State University, and Abia State in general.
