IIRS officials in a stakeholders meeting with telecoms companies and relevant government executives on sectoral tax hamonisation in Imo State
Further to the directive of the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, on the harmonisation of revenue administration across the State, the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), has begun stakeholders’ consultations with relevant sectors of the economy to arrive at a comfortable understanding.
Accordingly, the Executive Chairman of the Service, Mr. Justice Remijus Okoye, convened a strategic meeting with the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Representative of the Commissioner for Sports, Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, Imo State Chapter (ALGON), and Representatives of the Land Information Services (LIS) to commence a holistic review of the administration of revenue relating to telecommunications masts in Imo State.
Business Hilights.ng gathered that the meeting was to identify the appropriate revenue collection framework in accordance with applicable laws.
The meeting was well attended by key stakeholders and relevant government departments and officials at the Conference room of the Imo State Internal revenue Service (IIRS).
