The Area Commander of Nigeria Police Force, Area E Command of Lagos in FESTAC, ACP Chuks Eburuaja has described the Association of Progressive Traders (APT) as the most peaceful business association in Lagos International Trade fair complex.
Speaking in his Keynote address at the APT 18th Anniversary Prayers and Thanksgiving held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the Police Chief said “I want to thank all of you who are members of APT and your Executives for being the most peaceful amongst all the trading association in this complex in the last couple of years.
“To tell you the truth, I have not gotten any kind of security breach report or petition of complain about this market since I became the Area E Commander. This is commendable. I thank you all and I want others to come and learn from your executives on how to keep peace at all times and maintain law and order I n a marketing environment.
Continuing, the Area Commander further confirmed the dos and don’ts as earlier listed by the Trade fair Police DPO, Mrs Olabisi, who first spoke on how to handle cases and how to report cases to Police for effective resolution.
According to the DPO, don’t fight or beat up the accused before bringing him or her to the Police Station; Don’t detain arrested suspect before bringing him or her to the station.
Try and fix CCTV in your shops no matter how small for intelligence gathering in times of theft and other kinds of troubles.

Mrs. Olabisi also assured the traders that whenever an authentic signal that is well signed by the Area Commander is received, she will do the needful by allowing them to take anyone away according to the signal order. But if the signal is not signed by my Oga in Festac, I will not allow them take anyone away.
In general the Police DPO, who snag worship songs and danced very well assured of more security improvements in the complex this year and encouraged every APT member to always pay their utility bills to avoid locking up of their shops and starting a Police case from there.
