Working visit of BBA President to the open frontage in Rivers Cluster being targetted by land-grabber in Trade fair complex on June 19, 2026
President of Balogun Business Association (BBA), Lagos International Trade Fair complex, Chief Oscar Ikechukwu Paul Odogwu has assured the Executives and aggrieved members of Rivers Cluster on the readiness of his administration to intervene in the recurring case of land-grabbing by one of their members (name withheld). It was discovered that this case has generated disturbing anger amongst members of the Cluster for some time now.
Earlier in his opening speech, the Chairman of the Cluster, Hon. Kenechukwu Obidigbo decried the unacceptable harassment from the said land-grabber to the entire Rivers Cluster by way of attempting to forcefully grab an open front space for his personal development without due process and recourse to the stand of Rivers Cluster and their constitution.
Whereas Business Hilights.ng gathered that the latest assault by the same land-grabber is to give members of Rivers Cluster on attachments in the said space till the end of June to park out or get their shops demolished, BBA President assured Rivers Cluster of intervening for a lasting peace and settlement of the matter from next week.
Obidigbo told BBA President that a committee set up by his administration on the matter has already concluded their seating and has presented their report which he intends to give him in his office next week for consideration.
Before now, the general house of Rivers Cluster had made it clear through petition and peaceful protest that they are not ready to secede any part of their space to any person for private development and warned that any further attempt may lead to total breakdown of law and order in the cluster. It would be recalled that the cluster had earlier carried out a peaceful protest against the same man and his land-grabbing instinct with a petition to both the Executive Director of the complex and the leadership of BBA.
