Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) Chief Executive officer, Remigius Okoye, FCA, addressing LGA Chairman at a one-day training session for Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen
Pursuant to growing Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the state, the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) held a one-day training session for Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen. The training focused on the new e-ticketing system, which aims to streamline revenue collection and increase transparency.
The session, led by Compumetrics Solutions Limited, the company managing the revenue system, was designed to help the LGA Chairmen effectively oversee daily e-ticketing and market toll collections in their areas. This is expected to boost revenue generation across the state.
During the training, the Executive Chairman of IIRS, Mr. Justice R. Okoye, highlighted the benefits of the e-ticketing system. He explained that it would improve transparency, reduce revenue losses, and increase Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). He also asked the LGA Chairmen to provide detailed lists of markets, tolls, levies, and collection agents to ensure the system runs smoothly.
The training will continue as the e-ticketing system is rolled out across all LGAs and government agencies in Imo State. This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to modernize revenue collection and ensure better financial management.
