Ahead of the resumption of the truckers’ industrial action, the leadership of the Council of Maritime Transport Unions and Associations (COMTUA), has restated its resolve not to participate in the planned strike action by the Trio of AMATO, NARTO, and MWUN, saying “We want to make it clear that COMTUA is dissociating itself from this proposed strike action.”
In a terse statement signed by the National President, Prince Adeyinka Aroyewun and made available to Business Hilights in Lagos, COMTUA advised all our members in COMTUA to continue with their normal business activities without any apprehension, stressing that “We believe that dialogue and negotiation are essential in resolving any grievances, and we encourage all parties involved to come to the table for discussions.”

“While we recognize the right of individuals to protest and withdraw their services, we urge that these actions do not violate our right to engage in our business activities. We believe that maintaining law and order is crucial, and we plead with law enforcement agencies to ensure that there is no breach of the law during this period.
Concluding, the National President averred that “Our priority is to ensure the smooth operation of maritime transport services for the benefit of all stakeholders. We appreciate your understanding and support in this matter.
