President of the Association of Progressive Traders (APT), Lagos International Trade Fair complex, Chief Eric Ifeanyi Ilechukwu (Akunwafor-Anyirco), has started the roofing of all the over 20 pioneer shopping block of plazas built at the time of entry into the trade fair complex about more than two decades ago.

Business Hilights recalls that during the building of the plazas, their roofs were concretes but over time, tears and cracks have caused rising levels of water seepages, thus leading to damages of goods inside the upstairs-shops.
Giving details of the roofing project under his administration, Chief Ilechukwu said “My administration had promised APT that before leaving office, I will re-roof all the pioneer buildings to stop rains damaging our goods and that is what am doing now. We intend to complete it before the end of this November.

“As you can see, the carpenters are up there and the logs are being moved up to the roofs for the zincing.
Chief Ilechukwu assured that “With the covering of the concrete roofs with zinc, the problem of leakages will be a thing of the past across all the pioneer plazas in APT.
Whereas he was silent on the approximate cost of the total roofing work, he was happy that Just as his administration is driving home, he has delivered all his electoral promises and even added more extra.
Speaking to some of the traders in APT on the ongoing roofing of the concrete cover of their plazas, they told Business Hilights that Chief Ilechukwu and his executives have done so much for APT in the last couple of years and are still doing.

According to them, the covering of the entire pioneer buildings that were originally roofed with concrete now with zinc will forever protect our goods and end the yearly pains of water draining into our shops from the roofs during the rainy seasons. They expressed huge gratitude to the current administration for their thinking in coming up with the re-roofing plan and now doing it.
Some of them numbered the achievements of Chief Ilechukwu administration to include good governance, equity, building of a massive impressive office complex with assorted offices and shops with banking halls for APT.
According to them, Chief Ilechukwu administration brought peace to the market, brought back electricity under his leadership as the chairman of Trade Fair Stakeholders Association (TFSA), the lead umbrella body for all the business associations doing business inside the Lagos trade fair complex.

His government regularly clear our drainage system to always reduce the high impacts of flooding and has set up good resolution committee for any case or matter between traders in APT.
Majority of them revealed that Akunwafor’s administration treats everyone equally without any favouritism and has over the years, established huge trust amongst all the members of APT.
