…I Ordered Closure of BBA until Killers of Taskforce Member is Arrested—ED
The President of Balogun Business Association (BBA), Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, has advised his members to remain calm following the Police closure of the shopping plaza on Monday, May 3, 2026.
In a presidential message signed by the BBA President, Chief Oscar Odogwu to his association members and made available to Business Hilights.ng, the BBA Executive Council said “This is to inform you that the Balogun Business Association (BBA) Trade Fair Complex has been TEMPORARILY SEALED by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command.
“This action follows the unfortunate invasion of the complex yesterday by some thugs and cultists through the New Site axis shooting sporadically and it was alleged that one life was lost in the process and to avoid further breakdown of law and order, the commissioner of police ordered that the complex be closed for today.
Continuing, Chief Odogwu added that “Members and customers are advised to stay calm, stay away from the complex, and remain law abiding”, saying “The President, BOT, and the entire stakeholders of Trade Fair Complex are already engaging the Police and relevant authorities to address the issue”.
“We regret the inconvenience. Your safety is our priority. Further updates will be communicated soon,” the BBA Presidential Notice to the association concluded.

Meanwhile, in a telephone interview with the Executive Director and CEO of the complex, Dr. Barr. Vera Ndanusa, she explained that “I ordered the Police closure of the BBA section of the complex to avoid further breakdown of law and order after their security officials shot and killed a member of the Complex Security Taskforce on duty yesterday, being Sunday.
“I want to make it clear to all of them that until the killers of the taskforce member is fished out by BBA, the plaza will remain shut and under Police lock and keys. My administration in the complex will never condole abuse of law and order,” Ndanusa noted in anger, saying she is on her way to the complex today.
