IIRS Training on OCORA for MDAs recently
The Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Justice Okoye (FCA), has held a strategic sensitization meeting with staff of the Service across MDAs on the implementation of the OCORA Initiative “One Community, One Revenue Agent.”
During the meeting, the Executive Chairman appreciated the staff for their dedication, efforts, and continuous support towards the growth of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and the administrative advancement of the Service.
Business Hilight.ng gathered that the session focused on the objectives, implementation approach, and benefits of the initiative, which was introduced by the Imo State Government and is being championed by the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS).
The initiative is designed to eliminate fragmented tax collection, improve tax compliance, curb revenue leakage, and promote transparency and accountability in revenue administration across Imo State.
The benefits discussed included simplified payment processes, improved revenue monitoring, enhanced community engagement, ease of doing business, and the use of technology to ensure efficient and seamless tax administration.
