…As Trade Fair Stakeholders Confirm Election Credibility
Chief Okechukwu Ezeifeoma, former Vice President of the Association of Nigerian Tyre Marketers (ANTM), owners of Africa Tyre Village (ATV), this evening emerged as the new President of the tyre marketing group inside Lagos International Trade Fair complex.
Ezeifeoma, who pooled 263 votes, left his opponent, Mr. Loveday Egbuliwe with only three votes to return elected as the next President of the largest tyre trading group in Africa for the next couple of years.
Addressing the press and members of ATV after he was declared the new President, Chief Ezeifeoma expressed his gratitude to all members of the association for trusting and voting massively for him and assured not to disappoint them in moving the association forward.
He thanked the members of the Lagos International Trade Fair Stakeholders Association (LITFSA), officials of the Trade Fair Management Board, led by a senior Director, Mr. Sunny Agbola and all the security agencies including the Police, Civil Defence and DSS, who provided adequate security throughout the election period till the end.
In his remarks after the announcement of all the election results by the ATV Electoral Committee Chairman, Hon. Innocent Odo, the chairman of Stakeholders Association, who doubles as the President of Association of Progressive Traders (APT), Chief Eric Ilechukwu congratulated Africa Tyre Village (ATV) for conducting a free, fair and credible election in the complex.
He said “I came as an observer since morning and I saw everything from the beginning to the end. The process, procedures and every activity in the election followed due process and were very clean and clear to everybody here. This is how an election should be. You did very well. There is no security breach, no fighting and everything, like I said earlier, went smoothly.

“Let me say it again. We at the stakeholders association have passed a resolution that going forward, we shall send an observer team to every election by any of our member association as part of efforts to avoid cases of electoral crisis and court cases after election which has been a major issue in the running of several associations in this complex. We don’t want such crisis again. As you can see, am leading the observer team from stakeholders and we shall present our observatory report at the next stakeholders meeting.
“So in case, some one later went to court, we as stakeholders will come to the court with our election observatory report and present it before the court as evidence of credible election.
Elated Stakeholders chairman, thanked the former President, Alhaji Isah Akanbi Mohammed for leading the association very well and conducting a free, fair and credible election that is worthy of emulation in the Trade Fair complex.
