Further to expanding the frontiers of seamless complaince and tax nets in Imo State, the Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Justice R. Okoye, has unveiled the implementation framework for the OCORA (One Community, One Revenue Agent) Initiative during a strategic meeting with Revenue Heads across the Local Government Areas of Imo State.
Addressing participants at the meeting, the Chairman commended the Revenue Heads for their commitment and contributions to revenue administration in their respective LGAs, noting that their support has remained vital to the progress recorded by the Service.
Justice Okoye described the OCORA Initiative as a major reform aimed at strengthening revenue administration through a transparent and digitally driven system. According to him, the initiative is designed to deepen tax sensitization at the grassroots while promoting accountability and efficiency in revenue collection across communities.
He disclosed that implementation would begin with statewide sensitization and capacity-building sessions for Revenue Heads, who will subsequently onboard qualified individuals as authorized community revenue agents.
The meeting also featured an interactive session where participants raised questions and made contributions on the rollout process, with the Chairman providing clarifications on key aspects of the initiative.
The OCORA Initiative aligns with the IIRS’ commitment to enhancing revenue generation through transparency, digital innovation, and community participation across Imo State
