Nura Ibrahim Miko, Controller, PTML Customs Command, Apapa, Lagos
In line with recent wave of reforms and transfers in the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Deputy Comptroller Nura Ibrahim Miko has officially assumed duty as the Acting Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service, Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command.
Addressing stakeholders and the media on resumption of duty, he pledged to run the Command on the principles of integrity, due process, and seamless trade facilitation, signaling a leadership style anchored on partnership and results.
Business Hilights.ng recalls that Miko took over from Comptroller Joseph Anani, who has been moved to next door Tincan Island Command.
While handing over, Anani disclosed that under his watch, PTML Command collected over ₦178 billion in revenue as at the time of handing over, saying the figure underscores PTML’s growing profile as one of the Service’s high-performing commands.
Acting Controller Nura Miko in his inaugural address, made it clear that “I want you to know this: I am here to work with you, not merely to lead you,” he said. “Under my watch, integrity will be non-negotiable. Trade facilitation will remain our priority. Due process will be strictly respected. Teamwork will be our greatest strength. Results will be achieved through collaboration, not fear. Together, we will take this Command to greater heights.”
Having studied the standard operating procedures at the Command, Miko commended the structure already in place and assured that his leadership would consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor and build a stronger foundation for sustained performance.
While calling for sustained cooperation and collaboration from all sister agencies and stakeholders operating within the Command, elated Nura Miko emphasized that efficient port operations thrive on inter-agency synergy, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to trade facilitation, revenue generation, and national security.
Miko further noted that PTML would remain open to constructive engagement, committed to transparency, accessibility, and ensuring a level playing field for all compliant traders, agents, and operators.
He used the occasion to thank the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for the confidence and trust reposed in him, and was quick to affirm that the CGC’s policy thrust of Innovation, Consolidation, and Collaboration would guide operations at PTML under his watch at the Command.
