The Executives of the lead accounting body in Nigeria, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS), Mr. Justice R. Okoye (FCA) in his office and presented him with a letter of appreciation.

Also considered for the letter included the continuous dedication to strengthening the accounting profession and contributing to national development remains commendable.
Giving additional insights on the ICAN visit, Okoye noted that “During our engagement, we discussed the critical role Chartered Accountants play in tax administration, economic growth, and nation building. I also emphasized the need for increased public sensitization on tax obligations and compliance, especially with the implementation of the New Nigerian Tax Act 2025.
“As Executive Chairman of IIRS, I remain committed to building stronger collaborations with professional bodies like ICAN to drive efficiency, transparency, and sustainable revenue growth for Imo State.
