The new court judgment that recently watered down obnoxious provision in INEC electoral guidelines may open a window for defection for aggrieved members of other parties or moles to be planted by enemies to growing parties.
Commenting on the said judgment secured by Youth Party, Prof Sam Amadi, who doubles as Imo State guber candidate of NDCfeared that “The Court Ruling on INEC deadline may be political trap to “PLANT MOLES inside NDC in form of defections.”
He therefore called on his party leaders to be watchful so as to detect when a mole from either APC or ADC will be planted to cause confusion in the party
He advised his party’s headquarters to be at alert and further disregard the latest Federal High Court case.
According to him, “It could be a political trap. Just follow your timeliness. Do not delay to upload your presidential nomination before May 30, 2026. Leave High Court decisions alone. The Nigerian judiciary is in a crisis situation. Follow current INEC timelines.’’
Also speaking in the same vein, a commentator, Kayode Olonade; said “NDC should be extremely careful in absorbing new comers. If at all they must take anyone from outside their political party those ones coming in must come with;
(1). Confirmation Letter of Release from their party that he has no intention of coming back again and that he has not been known to be an NDC member before now;
(2). Acceptance Letter from NDC that he/she is ready to be on probation/ observer for certain period of time within the party before any fuller experience with NDC.
(3).Such new comer must be ready to in addition show court affidavit sworn to before a High Court Judge that he deals honestly with integrity, honesty and trust.
